Dale Pon, of Dale Pon Advertising, continued to trust Buzzco with his radio station advertising. The newly-branded CD-101.9, now a jazz station in New York City, called for new advertising. Dale asked us to design a trio of Cool Cats and support Bobby McFerrin's signature song,
Dale Pon was known for his branding of radio stations to increase listeners. We'd been working with Dale since KNBR and then the MTV national campaigns. This was a particularly interesting series of ads-- I fell in love with Bobby McFerrin at the shoot-- such a wonderfully generous performer. And fun to be introduced to the musicians. The cherry on top was that I saw pirated T-shirts on sale with the Cool Cats on them!
