It was no surprise that Dissecting Botticelli’s "Adoration of the Magi“ became Buzzco’s seventh short film for TED’s educational initiative, TED-Ed: Lessons Worth Sharing, an open platform dedicated to providing high school and college teachers a new way to use video content on the web: a way of “flipping” web video into a basis for their own lessons along with context, follow-up questions and further resources.
The scene of the three wise men offering gifts to a newborn Jesus was widely painted during the Renaissance. What did painter Sandro Botticelli add to the iconography of the painting to tell more than just a Bible story?
I’ve had a warm and fuzzy feeling towards Botticelli ever since I created “The Birth of Buzzco” soon after Vincent, Marilyn and I formed Buzzco Associates (reflecting our previous work for MTV!)
