With the need for resilience during a difficult time in our culture and daily news updates, I felt the need to make "In the Morning" a song by Nora York and Jamie Lawrence.
I was exhausted from trying to show "Market of Hate", my 6-minute plea for unity in our bleak current environment. I felt the need for a palate cleanser.
And having two interns this summer working on their own projects, I was ready for a new movie of my own. Composer Jamie Lawrence did the final production of the music for "Market of Hate" and I asked what he had on hand for a music video. He sent me "In the Morning" which fit exactly to my mood. And the best part was that it was sung by Nora York who sang "Nothing At All" in 2000. When later that day I saw Justin Peck's "Illinoise", I knew how I would handle it!
