Blessings of the Season

Lanny Meyers wrote "Blessings of the Season” as we were preparing a pitch to create an animated musical TV special based on Frank McCourt’s “Angela and the Baby Jesus”. Our team consisted of Ellen McCourt (producer), Buzz Potamkin (executive producer), Isaiah Sheffer (writer), Lanny Meyers (composer) and Vinny and me (creative directors and Buzzco Associates as animation studio).

Although there were some nibbles, a series of unfortunate events stopped our quest and eventually we decided to sell the idea to Brown Bag Studios in Dublin. And it was no longer a musical.

Lanny often works as musical director with Sandy Bainum on her cabaret performances and albums. Sandy Bainum sang The Last Time, my tribute to my late partner, Vincent Cafarelli in 2012.  

When Sandy Bainum began working on a Christmas album, This Christmas, she and Lanny asked me to create a music video for his song, “Blessings of the Season”  And I was completely delighted to make this video just in time for Christmas 2013.
