Hal Silvermintz has worked with Vince and Candy forever: He and Vince met at Wylde Productions and they continued to work together at Stars and Stripes Forever Productions. Then Hal left that studio to form Perpetual Motion Pictures, where he hired Vince a few years later to be the lead animator. Candy got her start at Perpetual as Hal's assistant, helping him with storyboards and learning the basics of design and layout. Although Hal retired to Florida where he painted, creating fine arts on his own, he came back into animation to work with Buzzco on his design work for Fast Food Matador. In 2008 we unearthed an old storyboard Hal created in the 1960's and used it as a basis for dEVOLUTION.
Hal Silvermintz passed away in October 2011, after a long illness. He was an innovative artist and graphic designer and had a great influence on the work coming from Buzzco Associates, whether directly or indirectly. A brief obituary was featured in Michael Sporn’s animation “Splog” on October 22, 2012.
And Hal and Perpetual Motion Pictures were remembered at the Perpetual Motion Pictures Panel Discussion on October 12, 2012.
