For HBO's Sports Illustrated for Kids Sports Quiz, Buzzco took their comic book strip character, Buzz Beamer, and created an opening and four interstitial pieces introducing and ending their baseball, football and basketball segments.
We got a call from HBO's Ross Greenberg that they would be working with Sports Illustrated for Kids to create a magazine-format show that would use SI's iconic mascot, Buzz Beamer, as the opening and glue to the show. We thought it interesting that HBO chose us to do it-- anything to do with our name?
Bill Hinds, the cartoonist who created Buzz Beamer, was a delight to work with. He and Vinny hit it right off and he was delighted to see how we brought Buzz to life!
